Kokosnoot cream pie is past father'south favorite pie and this is the 2d time I accept used this recipe. I selected this recipe because it makes a bigger pie and I similar to use a deeper pie plate. My family unit (& especially my dad!) just dear it. I used whole milk and the filling is then flossy - really delish! I increased the coconut to i & a one-half cups and felt it had plenty of coconut gustatory modality. I used the 4 egg whites to brand a meringue topping, sprinkled kokosnoot over the acme and browned it in the oven. It looked great and tasted better. Thanks Mary!

A fantastic kokosnoot cream pie. I fabricated my chaff with 1 1/two cups graham cracker crumbs, i/3 cup white saccharide and half-dozen tbsp melted butter, mixed and pressed into a pie plate and baked @375 for 7 min. Keep stirring the mixture while information technology's on the stove or nighttime-brown blobs will end up in the pie and y'all'll have a very messy pot to clean.
06/30/2006
It was very adept, but it did not really have a kokosnoot taste... I fabricated 1 change: instead of using three cups of milk, I just used 2 cups + 1 cup coconut milk. If y'all don't wait a strong coconut taste, it is a very proficient pie. Be sure to use a not stick pan. I used stainless steel and the saccharide burnt at the bottom, giving the pie a slight burned gustation. That wasn't the recipe's error though. Cheers for sharing!

Coconut Cream pie has always been my favorite, and this recipe was FANTASTIC! Of course, I am not the greatest cook, and I managed to bosom the crust and cooked the wrong part of the egg (ha ha) before re-reading the recipe, only the filling ended up tasting incredible, despite the chef! :O) I also fixed some whipping cream with iv tablespoons of white granulated sugar for topping. I know that I am probably the ONLY person dumb enough to add the whipped topping right away (before the pie cools, in which case it melts into a cream), only just in case I'm not, a discussion to the wise: WAIT UNTIL THE PIE COOLS before you add the whipped cream topping. My pie wasn't really very attractive looking, simply TALK ABOUT TASTY!!!! I highly recommend this recipe to anyone who loves coconut foam pies. Now I have to go make my "common sense" notes so that I don't rough up the crust or mess up the eggs again next time I try this recipe. Information technology commonly takes me two tries on a new recipe anyway. I judge nosotros'll have to eat the exercise pie this evening and try again tomorrow! OH DARN!! HA HA

I took previous posters communication and used 1/3 cup cornstarch in place of flour, used 1 1/ii cup milk and same of coconut milk, added i tsp of coconut extract and toasted the coconut. I likewise didn't have much fourth dimension for the pie beat out so I just crushed graham crackers and added some melted butter and sugar pressed into a pie pan. This kokosnoot foam pie was raved nigh and didn't concluding past Thanksgiving.

Oh my! I had never made a kokosnoot cream pie earlier, and this one was definitely a success. I made it with 2 cups skim milk and one cup cream and it was incredibly rich. You lot could only eat a small-scale sliver. Side by side time I will use only milk and I retrieve it volition be plenty rich and creamy, and lower fatty. My recommendation is to brand this the dark before. Because the coconut is not cooked with the custard, the custard does non have a kokosnoot flavour right away. While it sits overnight the kokosnoot has a hazard to re-establish, plumping it up and infusing the pie with kokosnoot flavour. I topped it with whipped foam and toasted coconut.

I like a recipe that works the FIRST time. I made this pie exactly as the recipe stated and information technology turned out perfectly. Information technology easily filled my pie crust to the brim, set up beautifuly and tasted great. I topped information technology off with my own recipe for cream: i cup of common cold heavy cream, iii Tbs of powdered sugar, 1 large marshmallow melted and mixed in. I garnished with toasted coconut. Even the first slice looked gorgeous when I served it. I would definitely recommend this recipe!
04/27/2001
Best coconut pie I have ever had. Which is maxim alot sence I idea my female parent in police always made the best I had tasted. It was creamie and rich.
06/22/2003
What a neat pie!! I acknowledge I haven't had a slice of it yet (it's even so cooling), but man the filling is wonderful! I topped it with some toasted coconut, too. The simply matter I'll practice differently next fourth dimension is employ a deep dish crust. I had a fair amount of filling left but, needless-to-say, information technology'due south already been eaten. My mom is a coconut freak & she already gave information technology a thumbs-up.
06/06/2011
I liked making this recipe for the first time with real coconut that I managed to cleft open up and utilize for the topping as well. The only thing I would modify is the flour to iii tablespoons forth with iii tablespoons of cornstarch to make the filliing thicker for a denser texture that volition agree upwards to the whipped cream that I put on top
02/08/2011
This was my starting time effort at a cream pie. I found the recipe easy to follow and my commencement foam pie was a roaring success. I did make one alter. I used Splenda, instead of sugar and it was still great. Will definitly make this one over again.
09/25/2008
the recipe was delicious! I added 1 matter but followed everything else to the "T". I added chocolate. I melted 1/2 cup chocolate chips in a double broiler on low and and so poured the chocolate on the chaff before I put the coconut batter in, information technology come out fantastic. Be sure to either use a pasrty brush or spoon to evenly spread the chocolate on the crust, comes out like a thin laver of a chocolate and tastes similar to a mounds candy bar. yummm!
10/29/2006
I have fabricated this pie recipe SEVERAL times. Each fourth dimension, everyone raves most it. I even won outset prize in a pie broil off with this recipe. Two minor things I did differently: (1) I added about 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract (in addition to the vanilla). (two) A handful of extra flaked coconut. ~~I suggest using whole milk when making this pie. It makes for a very creamy filling. ~~JUST FYI~~ I have made this lactose-gratis before. In order to practice that, utilize Nucoa margarine instead of butter and lactose-free milk instead of regular milk. It turns out only the same as the regular recipe. PLUS for LOWER Carbohydrate, you lot can substitute 1/2 the carbohydrate with Splenda. I have done this for my husband (who is diabetic) and he didn't notice a departure.
11/10/2010
Very good, rich, and super piece of cake pie. I used the microwave prep instructions many reviewers suggested and it turned out great. Just recall that if you switch the flour for corn starch you lot don't need to apply equally much- corn starch thickens better than flour.
xi/12/2010
This ane is but the all-time! I did substitute 1 cup kokosnoot milk for 1 loving cup milk. It gave the pie a much better flavor. It is very rich and smooth and received rave reviews at the dinner table.
04/30/2011
This pie is SO good then like shooting fish in a barrel! Every other recipe I looked at called for ingredients I didn't have or was just too much piece of work. This i is great because information technology was all stuff I had! What's even ameliorate is you tin can omit the coconut and make it into a totally unlike pie! I used a graham cracker chaff and it was succulent! I also added a meringue topping with toasted kokosnoot and pecans and the pie held up corking. Information technology did take a while to ready fully which was annoying because I wanted it right away! I suggest using a double banality though because unless yous're constantly stirring your mixture volition burn. Likewise the egg whites aren't supposed to be used so throw them into a meringue!
02/xx/2003
Mary, you washed yourself proud! This is a great recipe and I will brand this again and again. Thank You.
x/09/2010
I used coconut milk instead of regular milk, and it was fantastic. My boys (two teens and 1 husband) loved it and they fought over the piece leftover. It does brand alot of filling so apply one deep dish or 2 regular shells. Chill it very well so it cuts easily.
04/26/2007
I added an extra half cup of coconut equally other reviewers seemed to have liked more than in their pie, but adjacent time I will only add one loving cup as directed; I felt that the addition made the texture of the filling too thick and chewy, but the taste was still good. Otherwise, I used a graham cracker chaff and topped with lots of whipped cream. Will definitely brand once again, only without the extra coconut.
07/27/2009
I made this recipe final night and my young man said it was the all-time thing I've e'er fabricated and I melt all the time! I only inverse a few pocket-size things after reading some of the reviews. I used 1 1/2 cups of calorie-free kokosnoot milk and 1 1/2 cups of 1% milk, 1/iii loving cup cornstarch instead of the flour and added an extra 1/two tsp. of vanilla and a little bit more coconut in the actual pie. I topped the pie with Low-cal Cool Whip and sprinkled toasted kokosnoot on height of information technology. I cooked this on medium, stirring the whole time and it only took about 10 minutes or so to thicken upwardly properly. Great recipe! I will make information technology again.
xi/05/2010
I fabricated this for someone else who loves coconut foam pie and I was told information technology is a bit on the sweet side compared to others.
01/28/2010
Excellent pie! I fabricated a few changes only because I didn't have all ingredients on hand. First of all, I only used one-half the coconut - but I did toast it. My daughter hates coconut and she loved this pie! I likewise only used 3 eggs. I used a whisk while heating the custard and I didn't discover myself tied to the stove. Simply whisk often on med-low heat. I had no problems with lumps or dark-brown spots and I used a regular stainless steel pan. I fabricated a meringue with the egg whites using a scant ane/four loving cup of white sugar and mixing with the blender on loftier until soft peaks formed. I put it under the broiler for barely ii mins to brown and information technology was amazing! Both my kids have been begging me to go far again!
07/12/2011
i took the advice of one of the users and replaced 1.five cups of milk with coconut milk. the concoction is sugariness and rich with coconut flavor. adjacent up, i'thou topping the pie with meringue and toasted kokosnoot.
07/12/2011
This is a wonderful recipe. I have never written a review but was so impressed with this pie that I had to comment. I followed the recipe exactly. Took this pie to a pig roast and everyone raved. I also used this as a base to make a peanut butter pie. I simply used one-half a loving cup of peanut butter in place of the coconut. The results were wonderful.
11/25/2008
I have this recipe and its great! I add a meringue on top that sits up near iii inches . its too my husbands favorite!! Effort the meringue.. it makes it look like a millin dollars and gives it an entirely different taste too..
05/21/2003
This recipe is first-class. I'm coconut crazy, so instead of using all milk, I added 1 tin of coconut milk, which measured about 1 1/2 cups, and so used regular milk to brand 3 cups.
08/31/2010
Cooks upward quick and easy. I used one tin can coconut milk plus two cups skim milk, and increased coconut to 1.v cups. We LOVED this pie.
12/22/2010
First time making this kind of pie and it was cracking! I did substitue 1C of coconut milk and used cornstarch instead of flour. It ready and was tasty! I am non a bully melt and then if I tin make this anyone can!
10/25/2010
I subsituted 3/4 c splenda for the 1c sugar. Making it carbohydrate free (unless you lot utilise the sweet coconut, then it is not fully saccharide costless). Yous can purchase unsweetened coconut flakes to make it completely sugar free. I also subsituted the vanilla flavor for kokosnoot flavoring. Turned out so coconutty! This pie recipe is perfect!
02/09/2004
Wow! Easily downward the all-time coconut pie I've ever made. It does take a little time, just it's easy (but take to babysit information technology while it's cooking so it doesn't fire). Definitely worth the time and endeavor. I filled a deep dish chaff to the peak, covered with whipped topping, and garnished with toasted kokosnoot. Mmmmm!
12/10/2002
Excellent taste and texture. This is surely a keeper and will be fabricated often! Thanks!
06/24/2007
This pie is a no brainer! Loved it- volition get in once more and once again. I didn't change a thing except absurd whip and toasted coconut on the tiptop later on the pie had was cooled for about 4 hours! This did take a chip to thicken so be patient. If you lot had issues with this pie setting then you lot probably didn't thicken it plenty while cooking considering this prepare within minutes of cooling on my counter. Cracking pie! Danni
01/23/2011
I used one can of coconut milk for one-half of the milk requirement. Overall, this recipe is also sugariness. Next fourth dimension I will reduce the amount of sugar to peradventure iii/4 loving cup.
11/26/2003
Wonderful! Yummy! It may take xxx minutes to make, but it is an easy recipe! I also used ane cup of cream of coconut mixed with 2 cups of milk, and it was GREAT! I would also recommend using a deep dish pie crust--there is plenty of pie filling to fill up it up! Thank you for sharing this recipe. This will definately be a family favorite for many years to come!
06/20/2003
Made this recipe for fathers day. My dad and granddad loved it and said that haven't tasted a amend coconut cream pie in years. I also used 1 can of coconut milk as suggested by another user and mixed information technology with milk. Thank yous!
01/eighteen/2008
Very tasty, only not quite as good equally the coconut foam recipe I've used in the past. I would suggest using 1/iv loving cup cornstarch as the thickener instead of the 1/2 cup flour, so that the texture will exist smoother. 2 tsp. vanilla gives it just a fleck more oomph, and I used 1/ii tsp. salt. I have to acknowledge I did get tripped up past the fact that the ingredient list cited "4 eggs," and non "4 egg yolks." Since I am a fairly accomplished baker, I really was not reading the instructions that well, and went ahead and added the iv eggs instead of just the yolks. Didn't seem to really impact the final product, other than the increased calorie content. Nonetheless, I think it would assist to brand a correction to the ingredient list, if possible. Overall, this is a pretty decent little recipe.

CC pie is my all-time favorite dessert; I've made a good many of them in the concluding 45 years in the kitchen. Merely even I learned a few things by trying this recipe. I read the reviews, and on the forcefulness of those, I changed one thing: Instead of using 3 cups of milk for the custard portion as I have done for decades, I used 1.5 cups milk and a can (roughly 15 oz) of coconut milk. The improver of coconut milk increases the coconut flavor without calculation a bunch of (texturally unpleasant) coconut shreds. But even better, information technology causes the custard part of the pie to hold its shape better than about CC pie recipes. This is great if you have pie left the second twenty-four hour period. Also, stabilizing the whipped foam (topping) is highly desirable. It causes the whipped cream to concord its shape, not slump or weep within 24 hours. I used one tsp of unflavored gelatin, softened in 2 T common cold water. Once it had jelled in a glass Pyrex cup (nearly 5 mins) I heated it in the microwave for 25 seconds, cooled it a minute, and then let it fall in a steady irksome stream into the bowl of 1 cup of heavy whipping cream as I whipped the cream for the topping. The two pieces of leftover CC pie were as well formed and attractive the mean solar day later on I made the pie as they were the day I made it. Absolutely: stabilize your whipped cream topping. This recipe truly is stupendous. I will not use any other for CC pie in the futurity.
11/06/2010
Peachy recipe! I followed the recipe as is and information technology turned out peachy.
08/21/2009
We absolutely loved this recipe! the pie was sooo rich, so incredibly creamy, sooooo succulent!! only used three eggs, added merely 1TB of margarine to the filling and made the buttery flaky pie chaff recipe from this site (another groovy recipe you lot should endeavour!). Thank u!!!!!
12/31/2010
This was my first real pie to make and it was first-class. Had a great time making this with my grandson. Great recipe! I'll be making this over again.
08/17/2011
AWE-SOME! Every bit some other reviewers suggested, I used a can of coconut milk and the remainder of regular milk. I also covered the pie with whipped topping and boosted toasted coconut. Non only was it a show-stopper, but information technology was soooo delicious. I will exist making this 1 over again for sure!
eleven/01/2010
Liked this recipe. I think next time I volition try another reciews ideas and utilise cocomut milk and I am also thinking of toasting the coconut
04/22/2012
I was introduced last week as the lady who makes, "the All-time kokosnoot cream pie"! If y'all dear an old fashioned, similar your grandma used to bake, pie, you'll Beloved this recipe!
02/25/2011
Mmm, delicious. Beginning fourth dimension I always made a foam pie from scratch. Turned out fabulous. I was a trivial apprehensive virtually some of the mixture sticking to the pot and then ending up with niggling lumps just once the coconut is added you can't notice it. You must stir this mixture at all times to avoid this. Topped it with whipped foam and sprinkled some toasted kokosnoot on tiptop. I will well-nigh certainly make this once again.
06/16/2002
Succulent pie :) I inverse the recipe by adding a chocolate graham cracher crust and whipped cream on top. it was really great, and easy likewise! But takes a picayune patience. thanks for the cracking recipe :)
02/x/2011
Outstanding! This was the first time I've made a coconut cream pie. Two people commented that it was the best they've ever had.
11/05/2004
I made this for my coworker'due south birthday and Everyone raved over information technology. One of them asked me for the recipe a couple of weeks afterward when she told me she actually craves the pie (and she doesn't e'er crave anything!) 2 changes that I made: I used half and half instead of milk (makes it richer-tasting) and I toasted the coconut earlier putting it in the pie mixture (gives the pie a stronger coconut flavor). I served the pie with fresh whipped cream with toasted coconut. Delicious! Thanks so much for the recipe!
06/thirteen/2010
I substituted i.5 cups cream of coconut for ane.5 cups of half and one-half. I sprinkled chocolate chips into the bottom of the pie trounce earlier adding the hot filling, so used a pocketknife to swirl the melting chocolate throughout the pie. This chocolate/coconut foam pie was a big success!
10/twenty/2011
This pie was delicious! I would take put five stars if it didnt come out a little messy. And for a bonus, I put cocoa pulverisation all over the top of it!
01/02/2011
Very Good!! I chopped my kokosnoot in food chopper. It made information technology very kokosnoot tasting. This is a GREAT recipe. One of my favorites!! It'south worth a try!!
11/29/2003
Succulent!! Best coconut cream pie I accept e'er made. Followed the recipe exactly. This will be THE RECIPE for kokosnoot pie.
04/16/2003
This pie was mode also hard to brand...i did something drastically wrong, i approximate, considering it never did set. Information technology was just goo.....
08/13/2002
WONDERFUL! THIS IS Now MY FAVORITE Coconut PIE RECIPE!
12/03/2008
HEAVENLY! My husband and I both could not stop eating this pie!!! I volition absolutely keep this recipe and go along to make it whatsoever chance I get! (special occasions only since our waist lines don't stand a chance if this pie is in the fridge!!)
11/xiv/2009
This is a GREAT and easy pie to make. It does go faster if you rut your milk offset. I accept made this several times and didn't have milk only had heavy cream so I used 2 cups of that and 1 loving cup of water. Came out very rich just a favorite and requested once again!
02/17/2009
And so quick and piece of cake. Came out perfect and everyone loved it!!
06/fifteen/2013
This is by far not only the all-time kokosnoot cream pie I have ever made, but also the best I take ever eaten! I prepared with minor changes. I did not plow on the heat until the showtime loving cup of milk was added to avoid burning the sugar/flour mixture. I used only ane tsp of vanilla excerpt and added one/2 tsp of coconut excerpt to amp upwardly the coconut season. When I fabricated my whipped cream, I as well added a piffling of the coconut excerpt and topped it with some toasted coconut. Absolutely fantastic. Cheers for sharing!
12/22/2008
This came out actually good with 1 exception: It didn't actually have the coconut flavor I expected. So adjacent time I will substitute i cup of the milk for the coconut milk and endeavor it that way!
02/27/2007
I made this for my discriminating eighteen yr old son for his birthday, and he admittedly LOVED it! I inverse the flour to 1/three cup cornstarch and replaced 1 teaspoon vanilla for coconut exctract. I cooked it in the microwave rather than the stove. After information technology was cool I added a merangue topping. Excellent!! It'due south a keeper for me! Thank you Mary!
04/28/2009
Delicious! Delicious! The concluding thing I want to do when I find a recipe is make a bunch of alterations based on the comments section. Well... this recipe is absolutely perfect merely the way information technology is written! I followed the recipe exactly! Once the pie cooled, I smoothed on virtually a tub of Cool Whip and sprinkled with toasted coconut (the coconut package has directions for toasting). Yumm-o!!!
06/09/2003
This is a wonderful pie, very rich. I will exist making this ofttimes. Thanks Mary
01/08/2011
This is an excellent pie. My local grocer had half-and-half on sale, then I prepared the pie with that instead of milk. If you like thick, rich and flossy ... this is the ticket. I likewise had a couple of pre-made graham cracker shells left over from holiday baking, and then the kickoff fourth dimension I fabricated this pie I used the graham cracker chaff. It was and then good that I'll probably apply graham crackers every fourth dimension. Coconut foam is my husband's favorite and I was non a fan of coconut cream at all until I fabricated this recipe. This pie is so expert that it tin definitely change ane's listen almost coconut cream. We top with freshly whipped heavy foam and a few flakes of toasted kokosnoot, for a beautiful presentation. However, this pie is tasty plenty to be served plain. Cheers to Mary for submitting this recipe. I'll be preparing this pie for many years to come.
01/21/2011
i love it i would requite it v stars information technology worthy don't CHANGE IT that is all
09/05/2010
This is an excellent recipe, I made my best coconut cream pie always! Coconut cream is my husband's and brother's favorite and always endeavor to arrive when my brother comes to visit. I e'er just used coconut cream pudding mix but couldn't find it in the store when he was visiting last calendar month so I looked upwardly this recipe for it. It was amazing! My hubby keeps bringing it up and asking when I'k going to brand it over again! Making it today! try this recipe, I volition never the states another recipe for coconut cream pie, this is THE 1!!
05/07/2002
This is a succulent pie! The cocomut cream is heavy and very yummy. Family and friends loved it!
06/09/2011
This was a wonderful pie. I followed the directions as stated except I used a can of coconut milk and so used regular milk to equal the three cups. I baked a pie trounce to utilise and it broke, so I used a chocolate cookie crust I had on mitt. Very good and I will definitely make again.
07/23/2008
This was very good still I personally didn't like the big flakes of coconuts throughout the whole pie. Next time I think I will try to food process them before calculation to the pie mix. I definately will make this recipe again!!
11/27/2010
Very piece of cake to make and very good to consume! I will definitely make this again.
06/06/2010
Made this pie for my nine year old son and information technology was wonderful. I used 1c kokosnoot milk and 2c regular milk for more coconut flavor. This recipe is definately a keeper!
01/01/2011
Anybody loved information technology..only lasted an hour
12/19/2010
Slap-up!! But suggestion - definitely add whipped cream on top, whip information technology fresh, but don't add together saccharide to it. The pie is sweet enough!
03/26/2011
Everyone who tries this pie says it's amazing! I added 1/4 loving cup more coconut and 1 teaspoon more vanilla, and topped it with homemade whipped cream. This is my dad's absolute favourite of all the desserts I make; he goes CRAZY for information technology and even brags near it to other people whenever the subject of my baking comes up in conversation. Thanks for sharing this fantastic recipe--it tastes heavenly and has earned me a great reputation as a baker.
12/xxx/2011
Every bit usual with a new recipe, I followed this one as written, with one exception. When I stirred in the 1 loving cup of coconut, it didn't seem quite plenty, and so I added about 1/3 cup more. I used a heavy, stainless steel saucepan, kept the heat on medium the whole time, and stirred like a maniac; and there was NO scorching, equally some of the reviewers reported. It turned out absolutely perfect. I would have given this recipe 5 stars, except for the need for more kokosnoot.
05/30/2010
This filling is the recipe I use for home made pudding, too. This evening I added almost 2/three cup of cocoa and about 1/2 cup extra carbohydrate to two batches of filling, and it is superb.
09/03/2008
My husband had intimidated me not to make his favorite pie with tales of how perfect his grandmother's was. I made this 1 and he loved it meliorate than grandma's! I used i cup of heavy foam plus ii cps milk which made it heavier and creamier. Information technology was easy and fast to brand.
11/28/2011
this was ok
01/03/2010
Best pie Ever!!! I made it for my family and considering that I'm a teen and information technology tasted scrumptious, anyone can make it. Instead of buying a crust I made the 1 that NURSECHRIS gave a recipe for. (THANK Y'all!) My Dad loves the pie and is thinking of having information technology for his birthday dessert instead of cake. Cheers then much for the recipe!!!
01/09/2011
this pie was great...I grated some dark chocolate on top.
04/26/2010
Very, very good!! Loved it! It turned out perfect! I allow it sit, covered, in the fridge overnight, so I topped information technology with whipped cream and toasted kokosnoot flakes. Delicious! Thanks for sharing!
01/15/2012
This turned out well - with some of the adjustments suggested past others. I was a trivial concerned nearly the "floury" comments and then used a scant 1/2 cup. I don't know if that was necessary though, because there was no consistency problem and no taste of flour paste. I also took the communication of toasting the coconut and adding another i/3 cup. I used a can of kokosnoot milk and added enough milk to make upwardly to the three cups. I also added in a Tablespoon of Coconut Rum forth with a really good quality vanilla. With those adjustments this came out well - nice coconut flavor but non overly sweet or unbearably rich. If you really desire the sense of taste of cocunut, I retrieve you demand to make some of the adjustments others accept suggested. Without those, we would have been disappointed.
05/ten/2012
This is definitely a keeper, I loved the creamy texture!! The merely changes I made were adding a chip more coconut to the mixture, too as toasted coconut sprinkled on top of pie, then I fabricated a really nice whipped cream edge effectually the edge of the pie...This is a really delicious pie!!!
11/25/2010
Fantabulous pie. To get a more coconut taste, I added i/2 teaspoon coconut flavoring to the custard -- at the same time I stirred in the browbeaten eggs.
08/03/2011
Overall, this recipe is definitely a keeper. Instead of all vanilla, nosotros did one-half a teaspoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of coconut extract to give information technology more coconut flavor. I also think instead of flaked kokosnoot inside the pie, I should have used shredded, because then it wouldn't have been then chunky.
11/14/2014
This is an excellent recipe. I did utilize cornstarch instead of flour. The simply thing that I added was 2 Tablespoons of Kokosnoot Rum. It came out silky smoothen and succulent.
eleven/24/2010
Best I have had the pleasure of eatting. I likewise took the recipe and took out the coconut and added 1/2 loving cup unsweetened coco. OH MY GOODNESS! Yummmmmy!!!
04/19/2003
This pie was delicious!!! Been baking for a long time, but this was the first fourth dimension I tried coconut cream pie. My mom requested it for their anniversary. It turned out perfect. Anybody left with the recipe. I toasted a little coconut for on top. Very Skillful. Thanks Mary
07/29/2011
Great recipe. Piece of cake to follow and made a FANTASTIC pie. I followed the recipe in Betty Crocker for the merengue. We ate the pie the next solar day. Everyone raved. Huge success!
03/28/2008
I couldn't decide between using coconut milk or regular, and then I fabricated two pies. The kokosnoot milk version was the winner, past far. I would lighten the sugar a flake next time, since the coconut milk is and then sweet. I topped both with fresh whipped cream. Delicious.
04/14/2009
The first time was a flop. I tried the double-boiler method, but I retrieve I was supposed to put the mixture into a real pan after adding the egg yolk, so it may take been my mistake. It didn't set. The second time I followed the recipe to a T and the pie came out PERFECT. My mother-in-law grew up with old-fashioned PA Dutch custard pie and she thought this was great. Thanks for a wonderful recipe that I volition use once again for sure!!!
03/07/2014
As good as the ones from eating house ;) I put 2 cups of coconut milk and 1 cup milk, otherwise I cant really taste the coconut. And I topped with wipped cream and toasted shredded coconuts, it was a hitting!

Fabricated information technology exactly every bit recipe stated. Turned out delicious. A scrap rich. Best to apply a deep dish pie chaff equally there is quite alot filling left over. Would be meliorate to mix filling with whipped cream earlier filling crust. Or mayhap topping with whipped cream.
